Description

Ipheion uniflorum ‘Albert Castillo’ is the largest flowering white variety of Spring Starflower. The sweetly scented, star-shaped, snow-white flowers are adorned with a faint green stripe on their petals, lending them an elegant beauty. Sends up as many as five flowers per bulb. Particularly lovely when interplanted the deep blue of Muscari aucheri 'Ocean Magic'. Both bulbs will naturalize over time to form a drift of pure white and striking blue. Other early bulb companions include Iris reticulata and species tulips. Ipheion ‘Alberto Castillo’ would also make a brilliant addition to a sophisticated, all-white garden. Delicate in appearance, Iphieon is actually very hardy and easy to grow in sun or light shade, and it tolerates a variety of soil conditions. It’s deer, rodent and rabbit resistant, too! Plant a few extra so you can bring some cut stems indoors to enjoy the long-lasting blooms and honey scent even when you can’t be in the garden. Recipient of the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit for its outstanding qualities. April/May. Height: 3" to 6". 10 bulbs per bag
