Description
Narcissus 'Topolino' (meaning "little mouse" in Italian) is an adorable and deliciously fragrant Trumpet daffodil that grabs your attention in the early spring garden. To classify as a Trumpet, the flower's cup has to be as long as (or longer than) its petals, and with its bold, gold snout 'Topolino' certainly toots its own horn! This long-blooming, Award of Garden Merit winner has 3” flowers that open with creamy-yellow pointed petals that mature to white and a long, frilled, bright yellow cup.
At only 8-10" tall, 'Topolino' is perfect for the front of the border, along walkways and in sweet clusters tucked here and there around the garden. It's sturdy and can stand up to the vagaries of our New England spring weather (remember the snow in April?) - no flopping flowers here! And that fragrance I mentioned? We’ve been told that it smells like a combination of chocolate and vanilla. Wowsa!
Another on our list of easy-to-grow, trouble-free, long-lived bulbs that are great for naturalizing. Deer, rodent and rabbit resistant. Start your spring daffodil season off with this cheery and charming trumpeter.
