Description

Gorgeous and whimsical, this selection out of B. californica produces multiple flower stems up to 24” tall. Each stem is topped by a candelabra of large amethyst-pink, open-faced, star-shaped flowers, each over 1” across and is favored by butterflies. Blooms open in late spring or early summer with the display lasting well over a month! Makes an excellent cut flower and can even be dried. This selection is adored by the Dutch cut flower trade. Grows in full to partial sunlight, but best in full sun. Native to the Northwest U.S., B. californica Babylon grows best in full sun to partial sunlight (never shade). It needs moist, fertile, well-draining soil with winter and spring moisture followed by summer dryness. This Zone 6 bulb (USDA Hardiness rating for Lancaster is now Zone 5B & 6A) prefers a protected spot in winter. May/June 24" 10 bulbs per bag
