Coveted by heirloom gardeners, Galanthus nivalis Flore Pleno harkens back to 1731, the Greek gala anthus is "milk, flower" and nivalis Flore Pleno, the botanical Latin name, translates to "of the snow, with a full flower". Double Snowdrops brave the frozen days and nights insisting that winter shall end, and we agree! The nodding waxy double bell-shaped flowers on single stems have separate green grass-like leaves. Dazzling white outer petals doubled with green and white center petals make these Double Snowdrops a visual feast. Plant Double Snowdrops in large groups under trees or on the edges of woodlands, in rock gardens, or among shrubs and borders or along the edges of a pathway. Easy to plant and easy to grow, they will naturalize and multiply over the years forming healthy colonies, proving you have a green thumb after all.
