Putting the Garden to Bed: a presentation covering fall gardening activities including terrific tools of the trade, planting bulbs, dividing and transplanting perennials, and tips for preparing gardens for winter weather. She also covers working to remove invasive species, with October being the best time of year to treat woody invasive plants like bittersweet, Norway maples, buckthorn, etc. There is still time to do some transplanting although a little late for many perennials.
Suzanne Mahler has been developing her 1.5 acre property for 40 years and is an avid plant collector with extensive collections of woody plants and perennials including more than 300 daylily cultivars and 250 varieties of hostas.
